Note- Write commit messages and descriptions for every commit you made to tell the collaborators about the files added/uploaded, updated, or deleted.
Solution
Step 1- Edit the README file and write about yourself and your project.
- Click on the “Code” as shown in the image to get back to all files.
- In your repository, click on the edit or pencil icon on the right of the “README.md” file.
- Make your edits to the file. Write about yourself and your project.
- Once done, scroll down to the “Commit Changes” section.
- Write a commit message like “Update README with personal and project details”.
- Make sure “Commit directly to the main branch” is selected.
- Click on “Commit changes”. Navigate back and see the README file is updated now.
Step 2 - Upload new files or documents and commit changes to the main branch.
- In your repository, click on “Add file” then click on “Upload files”.
- Choose new documents or files from your computer or you can drag and drop files directly from your computer. Scroll down to the 'Commit changes' section.
- Add a commit message, like we have added here a Test Plan Document so write the same in the commit message. In the extended description, provide more details to inform collaborators about the files you uploaded.
- Make sure “Commit directly to the main branch” is selected.
- Click 'Commit changes'. Now you have committed 4 commits till now. Click on it to view the history of all your commits.
